Zimbabwe Rising Stars

Touring side Zimbabwe Rising Stars were the visitors to Brook Lane for the friendliest of friendly games on Thursday 27th July.

Ormskirk included their own overseas players in their line up with Australian Matt Morgan and West Indian Dane Currency making very welcome guest appearances.

The Zimbabwe batsmen set a target of 206 for OCC to reach which their bowlers defended well. For Ormskirk it was Andy Baybutt who starred with the bat but his efforts were not quite enough to deny victory to the touring side.

The game was played to a high standard and provided great entertainment for the spectators

After the game the players got together for a joint photograph followed by a gathering at the bar to continue playing out the day in the same friendly mood as had been enjoyed on the field.
